Transport · Formentera

Formentera is best enjoyed slowly: the bike and the public bus are the best way to get around the island.

The terrain is flat and distances are short — pedalling reveals the Formentera you can't see from the road — and for longer rides, such as the climb to La Mola, there's the bus.

Getting to Formentera

Formentera has no airport: you always arrive by boat. The usual route is the ferry from Ibiza, with frequent sailings all year round, and in season there is also a direct connection with the mainland. That isolation partly explains how well preserved and peaceful the island is.
