Inaugurated and consecrated on 30 June 1889, this is the smallest of Formentera's three historic parish churches. Built of sandstone and lime mortar in keeping with traditional Pityusic architecture, it is dedicated to San Fernando and was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1996. It presides over the village's old quarter, the heart of the bohemian scene that in the 1970s drew hippies to the legendary Fonda Pepe. The visit takes just a few minutes. The square comes alive with craft markets and live music.
