Cala Saona Viewpoint

Perched on the reddish cliffs that wrap around Cala Saona, this natural viewpoint offers one of the most celebrated panoramas on Formentera's west coast. From up here you can take in the whole cove, the pine groves tumbling down to the sea and the open horizon of the western Mediterranean. It is one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunset, when the rock of the cliffs glows in ever deeper shades of red, so it's worth arriving early. You reach it from Sant Francesc Xavier, about 4 km away, along the road towards Cap de Barbària and the signposted turning down to the cove.
