In the square of El Pilar de la Mola, high up on Formentera's eastern plateau, beats the island's main artisan market. Born in 1984 and heir to the hippie spirit of the sixties, it upholds one essential rule: everything sold here is handmade in Formentera, from ceramics, wood, silver and textiles to leather, jewellery and paintings by local artists. With live music and bars all around, it creates a festive atmosphere. Combine it with the La Mola lighthouse; as evening falls, it shows its very best.
