This musical genre is also the focus of the Formentera Jazz Festival directed by Maxwell Moya Wright, a former member of Ojos de Brujo from Formentera. Numerous legends and true stories circulate around the island about the presence on Formentera of musicians such as Bob Dylan, Gilberto Gil, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley during the 60s and 70s. The Formentera Jazz Festival arose from this spirit of inspiration that Formentera engenders in artists and musicians. Another place for listening to live music is the Craft Markets. There is usually live music in the central square of the Mola Craft Market, and the atmosphere is livened up by the terraces of the surrounding bars. It is also common for the Sant Ferran Craft Market to offer live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. During the month of August, this timetable is extended to include Mondays and Tuesdays.
