In the heart of Sant Francesc Xavier, the capital of Formentera, this public library bears the name of Marià Villangómez Llobet (1913-2002), a poet and translator who was a key figure in Catalan-language literature in the Pitiusas and winner of the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes in 1989. It opened at its current location on 23 April 2007, the day of Sant Jordi. It offers an extensive collection with an online catalogue, a reading room, a children's section, wifi, a telecentre and home lending, along with activities to promote reading.
