La Savina → Es Pujols
5.6 km · 85 min a pie · 30 min en bici · Fácil
Starting from the port of La Savina , this route surrounds the large saltwater lagoon known as Estany Pudent . It allows us to discover Ses Salines , characterized by the pink and violet hues they display, especially in summer. They are a cultural heritage of Formentera and were the island's only industry in the pre-tourism era. On this route, we will walk along the path of Es Brolls , which borders a large part of the lake, a unique place for a stroll. As its name suggests, it contains underground freshwater springs, enabling ideal vegetation for birds to nest. In winter, it is common to observe flamingos, as well as grey herons and ducks. In this peculiar environment, rushes, reeds, and other freshwater flora coexist with vegetation adapted to the saline environment, creating authentic salt marshes. This circular route allows us to access, via a detour, Formentera's main town, Sant Francesc Xavier , as well as the coastal town of Es Pujols .
