The uniqueness of this route is that it is the only one that runs along the western part of Es Cap . It is a short journey that offers many «Formenteras»; in just a few steps, two opposing landscapes are juxtaposed: one rural, wooded, and inland, and the other rocky, arid, and maritime. The first part of our route runs through dryland cultivated fields, most of them intended for the self-consumption of the local families to whom they belong. We can distinguish some fig trees with branches supported by props (estalones), an exclusive feature of the Formentera landscape, whose function is to create small shaded areas for livestock, as well as to facilitate the harvesting of figs. At times, in Es Cap , one has the feeling that time has stopped just before the advent of tourism on the island. As we approach our final destination, the environment changes its appearance: we leave the green hues of the countryside to move to the reddish tones of the rocks of Punta Rasa . From the steep cliffs, the panoramic view is exceptional. Before us, the islet of Es Vedrà and Eivissa ; to our right, Cala Saona , with its typical jetties and white sand beach. A walk full of contrasts that will not leave the hiker indifferent.
