La Mola → Faro Mola
2.8 km · 35 min a pie · 10 min en bici · Fácil
The most direct way to get from Pilar de La Mola to the lighthouse without stepping on the road is via route 29. This route is also a passport to travel back in time a hundred years, due to the rustic character of its rural landscape, the presence of livestock, and the pleasant surprise of finding a house on the left side of the path cataloged as architectural heritage, for its perfectly preserved typical features: entrance porch, thick walls with small windows, dry stone walls with perfect 90-degree angles… examples of the simplicity, adaptation to the environment, and use of natural materials characteristic of traditional architecture. The route runs through fields until reaching the Faro de La Mola , located on the eastern tip of the island, on the edge of the cliff. It is considered by many visitors a magical place, like a lighthouse at the end of the world. Next to it is a monolith in honor of the writer Jules Verne for his mention of the island and the lighthouse in his work “Hector Servadac, voyages and adventures through the solar world”. A formidable visual panorama from the cliffs of La Mola will put the final touch to this unforgettable walk.
